Technique Camp

Recommended for wrestlers grades 4-12.

Perfect fundamental skills and work on advanced technique with Pitt’s outstanding coaching staff.   Learn the techniques that have produced NCAA All-Americans and National Champions.  Although the emphasis is on technique, there will be live wrestling daily. 

Topics of Instruction Include:

  • Hand Fighting and Positioning
  • Controlled Ties
  • Basic Leg Attacks and Set-Ups
  • Front Headlock
  • Top: breakdowns, tilts, pins, mat returns
  • Bottom: escapes, reversals, sealing off, counters to legs
  • Redirecting the Attack – fake one way, attack the other
  • Defense
  • Throws – back arch and back step
  • Counselor Favorites
  • Much More!

We want each camper to be able to focus on specific areas where they want improve.  Throughout camp, there will be times when we offer small group instruction where the campers get to choose between various topics.  This not only gives the campers the opportunity to work on their weaknesses, but it also allows them to take responsibility for their training.

Typical Day:
7:30 – 8:30am     Breakfast
9 – 11am     Technique
11 – 1pm     Lunch
2 – 4 pm     Drilling/Live Wrestling/Conditioning
4:30 – 6pm     Dinner
7 – 8:30pm     Technique/Drilling
